This weekend in Mannheim, Germany, the blurry heavyweight picture might get a little clearer. When Klitschko and Byrd first fought it was Wladimir’s night. He dominated and decisioned Chris over 12 rounds, knocking him down twice in the process. And now, more than five years later, they’re going to do it again Saturday night on HBO for Byrd's IBF crown. Although Klitschko struggled with Sanders, Brewster and Williamson, he’s on the rebound after he derailing big Sam Peter, whereas Byrd thrived and survived (McCline, Golota, Oquendo) longer than anyone would have believed possible. Klitschko at 30 is younger than Byrd by five years, and at 6-5 he’s a lot bigger, plus he’s got that wicked jab.
