What Counts Saturday night at the Thomas and Mack in Las Vegas and on HBO PPV, Hasim “The Rock” Rahman defends his WBC heavyweight crown against one-time conqueror Oleg Maskaev. When the men first men in 1999, Maskaev was trailing on all the cards when he caught The Rock in the 8th with a career-salvaging wallop that knocked the future champion unconscious and out of the ring. A lot has happened since then, most of it to Hasim Rahman. Whether he has revenge in mind or is simply running out of challengers we’ll know for sure come Sunday morning. But in your opinion, does Rahman have what it takes avenge his defeat at the hands of Maskaev, or does history, as is its habit, repeat itself? |
